Originally opened in 1979, the now named Pizza Buffet has been a staple on Clemson Boulevard for nearly 40 years!!! The restaurant was purchased from the original owner back in 1992 and became Pizza Buffet in 1997. Today, it is proudly owned and operated by siblings Ken Palmer, Carey Palmer and LeAnne Palmer Smith since 1992.
So why a family adventure into the pizza business? The siblings were all born and raised in Anderson and graduated from Westside High School. The decision to buy the restaurant came while Carey and LeAnne were already working for the original owner as manager and server.
The family is strongly committed to giving back to the community. All the local Anderson public schools and the Liberty Baseball Team each host a night where a percentage of dinner sales are donated back. Over the years, Pizza Buffet has donated more than $150,000 back to the local schools through the initiative. Pizza Buffet supports high school athletics as annual sponsors and partners with both T.L. Hanna and Westside. During football season you can find Cheese, Pepperoni, and Chocolate Chip pizzas at both school’s home football games. Pizza Buffet also supports the YMCA by running the Duckworth field concessions, serving up hot and fresh pizzas four nights a week.
Among the roughly 25 regular employees you can even find the owner’s children working in the family business. Jamie Thompson, now a manager, has been working for Pizza Buffet since she was 15 years old where she started as a server. She is a loyal and highly valued employee so make sure to say hello if you see her during your visit.
Pizza Buffet looks forward to serving you however you choose to enjoy your pizza. So, come enjoy a meal at the buffet… or carry home an awesome pizza dinner to your family… or bring your friends for a celebration (the party room seats up to 50!).
